Johnstone Phoenix Youth Theatre

Following a very successful performance of Oliver by JPTG, it was clear to see that there was a wealth of talented youth in the community, who were only getting the opportunity to perform on the occaision that shows specifically called for children. Recognising this, in 1993 Margaret Carmichael, daughter of the JPTG founder Tom Carmichael, quickly founded "Johnstone Phoenix Junior Section".

Since then, the club has went on to cultivate and encourage the skills of music, drama and dance, amongst the youth of Renfrewshire, performing two shows a year ranging from musicals, pantomimes and revues. In n 2003 the Junior Section went on to rebrand itself as "Johnstone Phoenix Youth Theatre" to better represent the growing age limit of the club from 16 to 17/18 years old.

The club has recently just completed three sell out performances of Disney's High School the Musical, and will be performing Little Red Riding Hood in December.
